Pokhara Sightseeing Tour
Boat ride to Tal Barahi Temple
World Peace Pagoda lake and mountain views
Davis Falls and Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave
International Mountain Museum
Pokhara is far more than a base for Annapurna treks. In one relaxed day our guide shows you the city’s best-loved sights, from sacred temples and a hidden cave to a lakeside island shrine and a hilltop stupa with views of the Himalaya.
The day starts at Bindhyabasini Temple, one of the oldest and busiest Hindu shrines in the city, then moves on to the International Mountain Museum, where exhibits on the world’s great peaks, mountaineering history and the cultures of the Himalaya set the scene for what you see on the skyline. After lunch, visit Davis Falls, where a stream plunges into an underground channel, and Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave just across the road, a limestone cavern with a Shiva shrine and a view of the same waterfall from below.
Later in the afternoon, take a traditional wooden rowing boat across Phewa Lake to Tal Barahi Temple on its small island, then drive up to the World Peace Pagoda at about 1,100 m on the ridge above the lake. On a clear day, the white stupa frames Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna range across the water.
The tour runs with a private vehicle and an English-speaking guide, with hotel pickup and drop-off anywhere in Pokhara. It suits every age and fitness level and is a perfect rest day after a trek.

FAQs
Answers to the questions travellers ask us most about this trip.
Does the tour include Sarangkot sunrise?
Not by default. Sunrise at Sarangkot needs a pre-dawn start, so we offer it as a separate Sarangkot Sunrise Tour. It can be combined with this tour on request for an early-start full day.
Is there much walking?
Only short walks. Gupteshwor Cave involves steps and some damp, uneven ground, and there are a few flights of steps up to the World Peace Pagoda from the car park.
When is Davis Falls at its best?
The waterfall is most powerful during and just after the monsoon, from July to October. In the dry season the flow is much lower.
Is there a dress code at temples?
Cover shoulders and knees, remove shoes where asked and walk clockwise around the stupa. Leather items are not allowed inside some Hindu shrines.
Can I start from a hotel outside Lakeside?
Yes. We pick up from any hotel in Pokhara. Let us know the name when you book.
